Kanomama wa hatsukoi no hito - Chapter 1-2

Chapter 1: An Unexpected Reunion—My First Time Was With Kano-mama!? - 2

After another uneventful day at school, Urusuke headed back home to his seaside house a few stations away.

Hanao, meanwhile, was tied up with both her club and the student council, so after-school dates weren’t exactly easy to arrange.

Booting up his console, he logged into an online RPG—a perfect way to burn through all that spare time he had.

Then, pulling out his smartphone, he opened the SNS site linked to the game. Though everyone there was anonymous, the community was limited to people from his hometown, Totsue City, and those were the players he usually teamed up with.

“These days, my main circle of friends isn’t the people at school—it’s the ones here.”

The group’s members ranged from students to working adults, even retired seniors—some were living overseas now.

A few of them knew each other in real life, but Urusuke wasn’t one of them.

Still, he’d grown close enough with a handful of members in the community that they could casually talk about personal stuff or seek small bits of advice.

He opened the private chat room, which was shared only among those friends.

‘cogy: Sup, good work!’

‘It’sme: Heey, good job, our little exam student!’

‘FTO: Didn’t I tell you he’s not taking exams? lol’

The usual crowd replied. Even though they were supposed to be working adults, Urusuke found himself typing with flick input far more relaxed than he ever felt at school.

‘cogy: I’m heading over to my girlfriend’s place.’

‘It’sme: Oh wow, that’s a big deal!’

‘FTO: Planning to do some erotic stuff, huh, young man?’

With a wry smile, Urusuke continued posting about his troubles.

‘cogy: And she won’t even let me kiss her… I hope something actually happens there.’

‘FTO: Oh… that’s rough at your age, cogy.’

‘It’sme: Well, as long as it’s still platonic, that’s not too bad.’

‘cogy: Am I expecting too much… erotic stuff?’

‘FTO: No way. It’s simple: the more physical contact, the stronger the feelings.’

‘It’sme: It’s just like how going on a date brings you closer than just talking on the phone.’

‘FTO: If both people like each other, having sex will make you even closer… as long as it goes right.’

‘It’sme: Did you know? A sexless marriage can be grounds for divorce, depending on the situation. I know because I’ve investigated infidelity cases for work.’

“Huh,” Urusuke thought. There could be all sorts of reasons—different sexual preferences, simply not enjoying sex, and so on—but—

I don’t want it to be like that with Hanao… though, if I could, I’d want to do it every day.

As previously mentioned, he’s fond of everything about his girlfriend—her body, her personality, and her face.

‘It’sme: Sorry for getting all gossipy, but I hope it works out for you.’

‘FTO: Yeah… I’ve had my share of one or two breakups. I’ll give advice if you need it.’

‘It’sme: Someone who’s gone traveling abroad with a broken heart really has a different perspective, huh.’

‘FTO: Hey, we agreed not to talk about that, remember?’

‘cogy: Thanks! I’ll definitely ask for advice if anything comes up~’

A Game To Make Him Fall

A Game To Make Him Fall "Have a child soon." That was my father's catchphrase. Born into a family that saw women only as tools to bear children, I stood at the crossroads of my life after more than twenty years. What I held in my hands were nearly fifty photographs of men. These were potential marriage candidates, carefully chosen by my father. Some had volunteered to become candidates in order to gain something from my father’s company, while others were recommended to strengthen connections between companies. There were various reasons, but I had to marry one of them and bear a child. That was my purpose in this household. I don’t think I could ever love someone. How is it that others can believe in something without form, something like love? I can’t help but wonder. The reason I can't do what the general public seems able to do, is it because I’ve never truly been loved? I set aside the endless, unanswered questions that I had been asking myself since I was born ...
