Rabu kome manga no sekai ni haitte shimattanode - Afterword

Afterword

Nice to meet you, I’m the author, shiryu!

Thank you very much for picking up this work!

This work was conceived and written for the Kakuyomu Contest that was being held on Kakuyomu.

Personally, this was my first attempt at the rom-com genre, but I’m extremely satisfied that I was able to achieve results in the form of receiving a Special Award like this (though I honestly wanted to win the Grand Prize, lol).

I think readers who enjoy rom-coms will understand, but aren’t there a lot of rom-coms where the character you like doesn’t end up with the protagonist?

Well, maybe it’s just that I tend to fall for the heroines who don’t end up with the protagonist…

To be honest, the heroine of this work, Shimada Sei, would probably be the kind of heroine who doesn’t end up with the protagonist if she appeared in a typical rom-com manga.

The kind you often see in rom-coms—“she starts out hating and viewing the protagonist as an enemy, but gradually falls more and more in love with him, a cool-type heroine who can’t be honest with her feelings,” something like that.

I think girls like that appear frequently in rom-coms, but I’ve hardly ever seen cases where they actually end up with the protagonist.

But I tend to really like heroines like that, and I always end up rooting for the one who doesn’t get together with the protagonist—the so-called losing heroine

While wishing that my favorite character could find happiness, it suddenly occurred to me, “Oh, then I should just write a story like that myself,” and that’s when I began writing this work.

Perhaps the readers were thinking the same thing as I was, because this work received quite a lot of feedback and opportunities for comments, and that truly made me very happy.

In volume one of this work, Tsukasa and Sei get together, but the story will continue from here on.

I think most rom-coms tend to end once the protagonist and heroine get together, but I was dissatisfied with that too. I’ve always thought, “Show me what happens after that!”

That’s why I want to write what comes after.

I would be very happy if all of you readers would continue along with me for that.

That’s all for now—this has been shiryu bringing you up to this point!

A Game To Make Him Fall

A Game To Make Him Fall "Have a child soon." That was my father's catchphrase. Born into a family that saw women only as tools to bear children, I stood at the crossroads of my life after more than twenty years. What I held in my hands were nearly fifty photographs of men. These were potential marriage candidates, carefully chosen by my father. Some had volunteered to become candidates in order to gain something from my father’s company, while others were recommended to strengthen connections between companies. There were various reasons, but I had to marry one of them and bear a child. That was my purpose in this household. I don’t think I could ever love someone. How is it that others can believe in something without form, something like love? I can’t help but wonder. The reason I can't do what the general public seems able to do, is it because I’ve never truly been loved? I set aside the endless, unanswered questions that I had been asking myself since I was born ...
