Rabu kome manga no sekai ni haitte shimattanode - V2 Afterword

Afterword

Long time no see! This is the author, Shiryu!

Thanks to everyone’s support, I was able to safely release Volume 2—thank you so much!

The main theme for Volume 2 was simply to “write Sei as cool as possible.”

Especially during the ball game tournament, I really wanted to depict Sei excelling in every way.

Even while writing, I found myself thinking, “Sei-chan is so cool… I’m falling for her…!”—feeling just like Tsukasa.

Personally, I love basketball, so I imagined Sei and Tōjōin facing off in my head and did my best to convey that scene to the readers…

I hope that all of you were able to picture a cool and impressive Sei in your minds, too.

Another theme I wanted to explore was “a jealous Sei.”

Seeing the cool, composed Sei get jealous and struggle with her feelings—this adorable side of her is something I wanted to show.

There’s also an important scene, personally, where Tsukasa, while feeling happy about it, takes Sei’s feelings seriously and thinks about how to handle the situation.

When I read other works, scenes where the heroine gets jealous appear often, but usually the protagonist just says, “I’m glad you got jealous,” and that’s it…

I always felt, “Yeah, I get that you’re happy, but shouldn’t you do something to avoid making her anxious?”

So in my work, I made sure the protagonist actually addresses it.

It’s nice to be the target of jealousy, but if it’s left unresolved, insecurity builds and it can harm the relationship.

This series is also getting a manga adaptation, which is already in progress. I’m personally really looking forward to seeing Sei’s cute and cool self moving on the page.

There are still so many scenes I want to depict in this story.

The story after the two start dating, the battle between Tōjōin and Shiho over Yūichi, and even new characters from the original work… there’s still so much more to come, and I hope to meet you again in Volume 3.

That’s all from me, Shiryu, for now!

A Game To Make Him Fall

A Game To Make Him Fall "Have a child soon." That was my father's catchphrase. Born into a family that saw women only as tools to bear children, I stood at the crossroads of my life after more than twenty years. What I held in my hands were nearly fifty photographs of men. These were potential marriage candidates, carefully chosen by my father. Some had volunteered to become candidates in order to gain something from my father’s company, while others were recommended to strengthen connections between companies. There were various reasons, but I had to marry one of them and bear a child. That was my purpose in this household. I don’t think I could ever love someone. How is it that others can believe in something without form, something like love? I can’t help but wonder. The reason I can't do what the general public seems able to do, is it because I’ve never truly been loved? I set aside the endless, unanswered questions that I had been asking myself since I was born ...
